The Board just had it’s second meeting together on September 24, 2015 and we’re starting to get the ball moving. Our main goals for the near future are:
- Take care of a lot of the deferred maintenance in the subdivision, most of which is minor.
- Repainting the monument sign by the gate and the other monument sign by the entrance to our subdivision
- Have the street resurfacing done (it was last done in 2010). We have received several bids and we are in the process of evaluating them and picking the company we are going to use. The good news is that the previous board has budgeted for this and there doesn’t appear to be any unanticipated surprises.
- Make improvements / repairs to the walking path (it’s become very bumpy and unlevel).
- Get the homeowners in our community to trim the vegetation around their homes to create a defensible fire perimeter around each home. The last time we made a push for this was more than 5 years ago and quite a bit of trimming needs to be done in certain areas.
- Planning a community social event. We’re thinking about a potluck weekend event in one of the cul-de-sacs in the neighborhood once the weather cools down a bit (more details to come).
- Setting up this website (AWEstatesHOA.com) so we have an easy way to communicate with the homeowners in our community.
Recent Repairs and Maintenance
- Electrical box by front gate now stays shut
- Weed killer was sprayed along the Walking Path and other common areas
- Mistletoe has been removed from most of the trees in the NAOS area along the walking path. We are contacting the landscaping vendor to come back out to trim a few more trees that were missed.
